Kgb-Wrestling ha tenido el gran placer de entrevistar a una de las mejores luchadoras de la escena independiente de Europa, la escocesa Nikki Storm.
1- ¿Cuando y porque se empezó a interesar Nikki Storm por el Wrestling?
NS: Empecé a entrenar wrestling en 2008 en la academia de Scottish Wrestling Alliance en Glasgow. Todavía sigo entrenando alli, la escuela se llama ahora source wrestling school y esta dirigida por Damian O´Conner. Yo veo wrestling desde los 10 años y siempre había querido intentarlo y probar. Ser un luchador profesional había sido siempre mi sueño. Me encanta la libertad que el wrestling profesional proporciona así como sus historias, su capacidad atlética y sus personajes.
2- ¿Quién fue el luchador que te inspiró para empezar en el wrestling?
NS: Realmente no puedo señalar a un luchador, pero wrestlers como Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit o William Regal, luchadores que han viajado por todo el mundo y que aprendieron su oficio antes de llegar a televisión fueron y son aun inspiradores para mi. Me encantaba la pasión y la energía que ponían Lita & Trish Stratus en sus combates. Ellas fueron las primeras luchadoras que yo vi.
3- ¿En que escuela empezaste y que consejo darías a cualquier joven chico o chica que quiera ser wrestler profesional?
NS: Empecé a entrenar en la source wrestling school en Glasgow y sigo entrenando alli. Mi consejo para cualquier persona, chico o chica que quiera ser wrestler profesional es que vaya a una escuela de wrestling adecuada, que trabaje duro, que se cuide, que sea positivo y que este de buen humor. No piensen ni por un segundo que esto va a hacer fácil física, emocional o mentalmente.
4- Carmel, Bete Noire, Sara, Viper, etc… muchas luchadoras escocesas y todas de una gran calidad, ¿Crees que las escuelas de wrestling escocesas y las promociones están dando mas oportunidades a las luchadoras?
NS: Estas chicas que mencionas, así como Kirsty Love, Kay Lee Ray, Fiona Fraser, Sammi Jayne & Debbie Sharpe tienen un gran talento. Las compañias escocesas reconocen su talento, su enorme esfuerzo, su dedicación y ponen grandes combates femeninos en sus shows. SWA y SWE tienen siempre un combate femenino en sus show y ICW Fierce Females ha hecho shows exclusivos de mujeres con unas muy buenas críticas.
5- Después de verte en un combate hardcore contra Alpha Female el pasado año, ¿En que tipo de combate te sientes mas cómoda?
NS: El tipo de combate me da igual, soy feliz luchando en cualquier tipo de combate y contra cualquier rival. Pero personalmente para hacer un combate hardcore contra alguien debe haber una buena storyline detrás. Tiene que haber una buena razón para hacer este tipo de combates tan arriesgados.
6- ¿Quien ha sido tu rival mas duro en un ring, y cual ha sido tu mejor combate?
NS: Mi mejor combate fue contra Portia Perez en ICW Fierce Females del pasado mes de septiembre, todo el combate salió realmente bien y mi rival mas dura probablemente haya sido Alpha Female.
7- ¿Contra que luchadora te gustaría enfrentarte que no hayas hecho aún?
NS: Me encantaría enfrentarme a Jenny Sjodin
8- ¿Que piensas del boom que esta habiendo alrededor del wrestling femenino, últimamente?
NS: Es genial. Esto nos da mas oportunidades para luchar más y en más sitios.
9- Después de luchar en Japón y Estados Unidos este año, que grandes diferencias hay entre los estilos de wrestling? ¿ Podemos esperar nuevos tours en el 2014?
NS: USA es probablemente mas parecido al wrestling británico si hablamos de estilo. Pero adoro luchar en Japón y en Esatdos Unidos por diferente maneras y diferentes motivos. Sobre el 2014 todo el mundo tendrá que esperarse y ver que pasa.

1 -When and why Nikki Storm began to get interested in wrestling?
NS: I started training in febuàry 2008 at the Scottish Wrestling Alliance in Glasgow. I still train there. The school is now called source wrestling school and is ran by Damian O’Conner. I watched wrestling since I was ten years old and I just always wanted to try it and do it. Being a professional wrestler has always been my dream. I loved the escapism that sports entertainment provided like the stories, athleticism and the larger than life characters.
2- Who was the wrestler that inspired it?
NS: I cannot really pinpoint a particular wrestler but the guys like Chris Jericho, Eddie Guererro, Chris Benoit, William regal who really travelled the world and learned their craft before reaching television were and are still so inspiring. I loved the energy that Lita and Trish Stratus brought too. They were the first female wrestlers I ever seen.
3- What school started training and which advice would you give to girls who want to be wrestlers?
NS: I stared training and still train at source wrestling school in Glasgow. My advice to any aspiring wrestlers (male or female) is to try it if you want to at a proper professional training school, work hard, stay safe, stay positive and have fun. Don’t think for a second this will be easy physically, mentally or emotionally.
4- Carmel, Bete Noire, Viper, Sara, etc … many fighters from Scotland and all of great quality, do you think you are Scottish schools which are giving more opportunities to the female wrestlers?
NS: Those girls you mentioned, as well as others like Kirsty love, Kay Lee Ray, Fiona Fraser, Sammi Jayne and Debbie Sharpe are talented. Scottish companies recognise that talent, Hard work, dedication and are putting some great women’s matches on their show. SWA and SWE have a women’s match on every show. ICW Fierce Females have done all female shows which have gained great reviews.
5- After watching you in a hardcore match against Alpha Female last year, in what type of match do you feel more comfortable?
NS: I do not mind, I am happy to wrestle whoever in whatever type of match. For me personally, if I’m going to do a hardcore match, there has to be a significant build up to it and story. There has to be a reason for it as it is a very high risk sort of match.
6- What has been your toughest opponent on a ring and your best match?
NS: My best match has been against Portia Perez at ICW fierce females in September of this year. Everything about it just clicked so well. Toughest opponent is probably Alpha Female.
7- Against who wrestler do you want to wrestle, that you don´t have wrestle yet?
NS: I would like to wrestle Jenny Sjodin.
8- What do you think of female wrestling companies boom is taking place in recent years?
NS: It is great. It gives us more matches and wrestling dates.
9- After tours in Japan and USA this year, which are the big differences between wrestling styles in that countries? Also we can expect a new tour next year?
NS: USA was probably a lot more similar in terms of style to Britain. I loved wrestling in Japan and America in different ways for varying reasons. In terms of 2014, everyone will have to wait and see.
10- Would you like to travel to Mexico to wrestle?
NS: Yes.
