Icarus Interview, Hungarian wrestler (HCW) [English version]

Icarus HCW

Weeks ago in Barcelona we can watch live fight Icarus in the Zero One-SWA and in our opinion he´s one of the favorites to win the tryout. So we did not want to miss the oportunity to interview him.

1.People in spain not known the wrestling in Hungary; ¿Can you tell us something of the wrestling in your country?

You know pro-wrestling/catch was a part of Hungary’s history back in the days. There were shows during the early ’40s so it was a really serious thing back then. After the World War and durign the communist regim it was banned. Our nation is pretty famous of amateur and college wrestling, so everybody pushed the sport and forgets the pro-wrestling. Lou Thez, Tibor Szakacs, Zoltan Boscik, Arpad Weber were pretty big names but nobody knows them in their own country. Now it’s our time to rebuild everything, and show something quality and crazy product!

2.How you started in the profesiional wrestling word?

I’ve first met this amazing world in 2000. I was totally mezmerized by the action what I’ve seen in the ring. There was no options to train in professional ways in Hungary, so Dover and I started to train ourselves at home, and almost everywhere where we’ve could but our real career started in 2010. After years of hard working we’ve found the HCW (Hungarian Championship Wrestling) which is the first and only promotion in Hungary. In 2011 I’ve had a match against Gabriel Angelfyre (PWH) and he dropped us on the map of pro-wrestling so we’ve got the opportunity to get as many experiences as we can.

3.What did you think of the Barcelona Zero One tryout?

It was a really fun two days. I’ve learned alot and met really cool dudes during the whole process. I train in kinda similar style at home like we did on the TryOut, so it was an really awsome opportunity to check my abilities. I really enjoyed it. Paul Tracey did a great job with us. He was simply awsome.

4.Your match in the tryout was one of the best matches in the night; You think you have chances to win the trip to Japan?

Thank you. I’m a big fan of japanese wrestling/puroresu so I’ve tried to show everybody how can you mix some european stlye with some hard hitting japanese style. I think there were some pretty talented guys, so I’m gonna happy no matter who’ll win. Of course I will fly to the Sun and back if I get the chance to fly Japan.

5.What is your goal in profesional wrestling?

To train in a Japanese Dojo, and rebuild the Hungarian Pro-Wrestling culture. I want to create the biggest ‘sandbox’ in Europe to make something quality production.

6.What do you like best to Barcelona show?

I really liked the crowd! They were focusing on the match 100% so they’ve been appreciate every small detail which is pretty important. It was an awsome atmosphere.

7. Would you like to return to fight in spain?

Yes of course! If there’s any opportunity what I can take, I will.

Thank you
