Johnny Gargano ha defendido su título ante Ricochet en Evolve 10, Masato Yoshino en DGUSA Mercury Rising 2012, AR Fox en Evolve 13, Chuck Taylor en Evolve 15, Akira Tozawa en DGUSA Untouchable 2012, Jonathan Gresham en FCP International Takkers 2012 en UK, Jon Davis en Evolve 17, Ryo Jimmy Saito en DG The Gate of Victory 2012 en Japón y en un fatal four way elimination match ante Akira Tozawa, AR Fox & Ricochet en DGUSA Freedom Figt 2012. Además por si esto fuera poco Johnny Gargano junto a Chuck Taylor ganó dos veces los campeonatos por parejas de Chikara, perdiendolos por última vez el pasado mes de junio ante The Young Bucks.
