Roderick Strong, el luchador de Wisconsin, no ha llegado a estar a la altura del 2011 y por eso no ha entrado dentro del top 10 de esta lista de los 100 mejores luchadores independientes, a pesar de eso Rodercik Strong puede añadir a su colección de títulos ganados, el de televisión de ROH y el título por parejas de Premiere Wrestling Xperience (PWX).  Strong empezó el año con mal pie ya que perdió un combate por parejas junto a Michael Elgin contra Team Ambition por el number 1 contender de los títulos de parejas y en febrero perdería un combate contra Eddie Edwards por ser el próximo retador del título de los pesos pesados, pero en marzo daría la sorpresa al derrotar a Jay lethal en un combate por el título de televisión, este campeonato lo retendría hasta junio derrotando por el camino a rivales como Fit Finlay, Tomasso Ciampa, o Jay Lethal, perdiéndolo ante Adam Cole. Tras esto tuvo una oportunidad al título de los pesos pesados ante Kevin Steen pero perdió y finalmente acabó el año ganado en la rivlaidad de The House of Truth a Michael Elgin en Final Battle. Además Rodercik Strong es un habitual de los shows de PWG, donde este año llegó a cuartos del BOLA 2012 tras caer con Ricochet después de haber ganado a Drake Younger en primera ronda. En PWG también participó en el DDT4 de 2012 junto a Sami Callihan pero perdieron en primera ronda ante El Generico & Willie Mack. En PWX ganó los títulos por parejas junto a Eddie Edwards en noviembre al derrotar a The Great Outdoors (Grizzly Redwood & Jake Manning)
