Matt Jackson, el mayor de los hermanos y componente de The Young Bucks, ha tenido un año con altibajos en este 2012, ya que empezó siendo uno de los fichajes estrellas de ROH, pero los problemas económicos de la empresa no le ha permitido luchar mucho en esta. Pero no todo han sido malas noticias ya que formando parte de The Young Bucks junto a su hermano Nick se hicieron con los campeonatos por parejas de Chikara en junio de este año. Desde entonces han defendido con éxito los títulos ante The Throwbacks & Spectral Envoy. La única aparición importante en lucha individual de Matt Jackson fue ante Kenny King en ROH y venció en ese combate, tras esto todas sus luchas importantes han diso en parejas, en PWG tuvieron la oportunidad de hacerse con los títulos un par de veces pero en ambas ocasiones acabaron sucumbiendo ante Super Smash Brothers. En Chikara llegaron a la final del King of Trios 2012 formando parte de la tercia llamada ROH junto a Mike Bennett donde cayeron ante Spectral Envoy (Hallowicked, Ultramantis Black & Frightmare), por el camino quedaron en primera ronda The Faces of Pain (Barbarian, Meng & The Warlord), The Extreme Trio (Jerry Lynn, Tommy Dreamer & Too Cold Scorpio) en cuartos de final y Sendai Girls (Dash Chisako, Meiko Satomura & Sendai Sachiko) en semifinales.
