Silas Young, el luchador de Green Bay, Wisconsis sigue dando clases magistrales de lucha en cualquier empresa donde trabaj y sigue siendo por desgracia unos de los luchadores mas infravalorados de la escena independiente, solo por dar una muestra Silas Young ha sido 426 días consecutivos campeón de los pesos pesados del AAW, desde el 23 de julio de 2011 hasta el 21 de septiembre de 2012, y durante este reinado en este 2012 ha defendido el título ante rivales como BJ Whitmer, Arik Cannon, Jimmy Jacobs, ACH o su rival mas importante este año Michael Elgin con quien perdería el título en septiembre, en un combate I quit match que duró 39 minutos, después de haberlo derrotado en febrero y haber empatado a 1 en un iron man de 60 minutos en abril. Además tras perder el título consiguió ganar un fatal four way en noviembre ante ACH, Kyle O´Reilly & BJ Whitmer. Silas ha participado en el 2012 en otras empresas como Evolve donde estuvo en los volúmenes 12 y 13, en el primero formó equipo con Chuck Taylor para derrotar a Johnny Gargano & Samuray del Sol y en el segundo venció a Adam Page. Young también luchó este año en ROH, la primera vez en julio donde cayó derrotado ante Michael Elgin y luego participó en las eliminatorias del torneo Survival of The Fittest donde cayó derrotado ante Tadarius Thomas.
