Mike Cruz, el luchador afincado en la zona de Florida y que ha luchado habitualmente en las empresas del condado de Orange como Believe, Vintage Wrestling o PWX, ha dado un salto hacia adelante en este 2012 con su aparición en las empresas de Gabe Sapolsky, primero en DGUSA en el show Heat donde luchó ante Ricochet donde dejó muestras de su buen hacer sobre un ring y posteriormente participando en 5 shows consecutivos de Evolve donde a pesar de no tener suerte ya que sus participaciones las cuenta por derrotas 0-5 ha dado muestras de su potencial. Mike Cruz ha perdido en combates individuales ante rivales como Alex Reynolds, Chuck Taylor & Tony Nese, también formó pareja en dos de los shows juntos a Cheech Hernández pero cayeron derrotados ante The Scene en el volumen 14 y contra Alex Reynolds & John Silver en el volúmen 16. A finales de este año, Mike Cruz fue uno de los participantes en la Jeff Peterson Cup 2012, donde consiguió derrotar en primera ronda a Maxwell Chicago para caer en cuartos de final ante Jon Davis. En las empresas locales destaca la rivalidad que ha tenido Cruz contra Lince Dorado en la empresa PWX, donde se han enfrentado entres ocasiones este año siendo la última en el show «Xtreme War» acabando con victoria para Cruz.
