1.Can you tell us the situation of wrestling in Hong Kong?
Wrestling in Hong Kong is a very minor sport. Despite WWE (WWF) came Hong Kong for a house show back in 1993, we don’t have any live wrestling in our city. During the late 90s and early 2000s, we have a cable TV channel which broadcast former WCW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. But then it was stopped for some reason.
My promotion, Hong Kong Pro Wrestling Federation (HKWF, some known as ZERO1 Hong Kong) are the only wrestling promotion in Hong Kong so far. We do live event about once per three month. We have about 9 wrestlers in our card plus some trainees. Most of our wrestlers has experience in wrestling in Taiwan, Singapore and Japan.
2.Does it different of the european wrestling?
Wrestling in Hong Kong is quite new to our audience, they cheer for us almost every move. I think there are more audience involvement in our events. Some of our wrestlers also enjoy having fights in the crowd too! I remember in one main event last year, many audiences came next to the ring and cheer for the wrestlers!
3.What do you like best of european wrestling?
There are a lot of wrestling companies in Europe. Every promotion are having different style of wrestling. As a fans they will benefit as they can watch many other styles of wrestling. I think the market is good!
4.Who is the best wrestler that you watch ir Europe?
I have seen a lot of good wrestlers in Europe! Can’t name them all. But I think a good wrestler need to be having a good charisma, a very good ring technique. I also think that a good wrestler should also be a good person at backstage!
5.Zero One go Portugal in the future? Why?
I am not sure! ZERO1 Spain has opened few months ago and I think many Portugal wrestlers can travel to Spain for events easier. But anything can happen. Wrestling business is not easy nowadays, sometimes we may need to work hard and also work together to bring wrestling industry back as popular as possible!
6.What is your goal in profesional wrestling?
Over the 8 years of professional wrestling I have done a lot of things already. Running my own promotion in Hong Kong; training up some good wrestlers who already fought in multiple countries; wrestling in my dream place Korakuen Hall; doing a tour around Europe!
In the future I still hope to wrestle in more country, maybe Mexico for a start? I also hope that by working hard together we can make Hong Kong or China a good country for wrestling!
7.Would you like to return to fight in spain?
Sure!
