Jay Lethal el luchador de New Jersey sigue dando muestra de su poderío dentro de la escena independiente y a su buen hacer en el ring solo le ha faltado conseguir un título de los importantes para conseguir estar mas arriba en el top. Jay Lethal ha tenido este año en su cintura el campeonato de Televisión de ROH y el título de los tres estados y el absoluto de la empresa FWE. Jay Lethal también ha tenido la oportunidad de luchar por el título de los pesos pesados pero no ha tenido suerte, la primera oportunidad la tuvo ante Davey Richards en el show Homecoming el pasado mes de enero y la segunda la tuvo en el show Killer Instint de octubre cuando perdió ante Kevin Steen, hay que señalar que esta última oportunidad la tuvo por ser el campeón del torneo Survival of the Fittest 2012, tras ganar en la final a Adam Cole, Davey Richards, Michael Elgin, Mike Mondo & Roderick Strong.  En su historial como campeón del título de TV hay que decir que Lethal lo defendió con fortuna ante Mike Bennett, Tomasso Ciampa o Kyle O´Reilly antes de perderlo ante Roderick Strong. En FWE perdió el título de los tres estados ante Damien Darling el 24 de marzo pero el mismo día ganaría el título de los pesos pesados al derrotar a Eric Young, título que ostentaría hasta el mes de julio cuando lo perdería a manos de Tommy Dreamer en un Four Way elimination donde también participaron Brian Kendrick & Carlito
