Davey Richards, el luchador de Washington, ha bajado este año del 1 al tres y no porque haya estado peor en cuanto a luchas sino por el buen hacer de los 2 canadienses que le han superado, no en vano Richards se pasó los 5 primeros meses como campeón del título de los pesos pesados de ROH perdiendolo el 12 de mayo en Border Wars tras 321 días consecutivos como campeón. Durante esta época algunos de sus rivales fueron Jay Lethal, Eddie Edwards, Roderick Strong, Adam Cole o Michael Elgin en un combate en que el Wrestling Observer le dio 5 estrellas. Tras esto y tras un periodo alejado de ROOH regresó para Survival of The Fittest 2012 y a pesar de ganar en el combate de primera ronda a Mike Bennett, no podría ganar el torneo que caería a manos de Jay Lethal. Tras un buen combate ante Jay Lethal en Glory By Honor XI, Richars se vio envuelto en una rivalidad con Kyle O´Reilly & Bobby Fish que acabaría con el retorno de The American Wolves cuando Eddie Edwards llegó a su recaste y ambos se enfrentaron con victoria a O´Reilly & Fish en Final Battle 2012. Además de sus luchas en ROH, Richards es un habitual de los shows de AAW donde ha luchado ante Michael Elgin por el título de los pesos pesados, de PWG donde disputó el BOLA 2012 cayendo derrotado en primera ronda ante Michael Elgin, en CZW donde también luchó por el título de los pesos pesados ante Masada. Además Richards realizó una gira por Japón con New Japan y estuvo en el mes de agosto luchando en Europa.
