Shelton Benjamin el luchado de South Carolina, ha tenido un año 2012 movido ya que ha compartido tiempo entre ROH y los diferentes tour que ha hecho por Japón.  Shelton Benjamis ha pasado gran parte del año formando pareja junto a Charlie Haas conocidos como WGTT en ROH, y sus primeros meses del año se desarrollaron dentro de una fuerte rivalidad con The Briscoe Brothers, este feudo llegó al punto culminante en mayo cuando dentro del show «Border Wars», the WGTT recuperaron de nuevo los cinturones por parejas. Anteriormente habían perdido en las dos ocasiones anteriores que se enfrentaron por los títulos. Tras esta rivalidad llegarían unos nuevos rivales All Night Xpress (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) con quien disputarían una serie de combates que acabarian con la victoria de ANX en «Best in the World» y con la consecuente perdida de los títulos por parte de WGTT. Tras esto Shelton Benjamin empezaría sus tours por Japón con NJPW y se perdería el torneo de parejas de ROH, tras regresar junto a Charlie Haas tuvieron la oportunidad de luchar por los títulos en una triple amenaza en el show «Killer Instinct» pero perdieron ante SCUM. Los últimos meses del año han mantenido una rivalidad con BJ Whitmer & Rhett Titus, feudo que acabaría en Final Battle 2012 con la victoria para WGTT en un combate New York City Street Fight.
