Mike Bennett, el luchador de Massachussets, Estados Unidos, ha tenido un año bastante bueno en este 2012 dando muestras de su potencial, no en vano se rumorea con un posible fichaje por WWE.  Mike bennett estuvo a principio de año a punto de hacerse con el campeonato de televisión deROH pero no pudo ganar a Jay Lethal. En ROH mantuvo una rivalidad muy importante durante los primeros meses del año con Lance Storm con quien se enfrentó tres veces y de las cuales salió victorioso en un par de ocasiones, tras esto en ROH participó en combates por el number 1 contender por el título de televisión pero tampoco consiguió que le acompañase la suerte. Junto a su novia Maria Kanellis participó en un combate mixto ante Eddie Edwards & Sara del Rey que acabarían perdiendo. Por último en ROH formaria parte del torneo Survival of the Fittest pero caería en primera ronda a manos de Davey Richards. Mike Bennett fue el representante de ROH en el KIng of Trios de Chikara junto a The Young Bucks llegando a la final del torneo, pero cayendo derrotados allí ante The spectral Envoy. Mike Bennett también ha luchado en otras empresas como FWE donde se ha enfrentado a Brian Kendrick, Harry Smith o Colt Cabana y ha formado parte de la copa Killer Kowalski de la empresa Top Rope Promotion donde llegó a semifinales perdiendo ante Vinny Marseglia, tras ganar en primera ronda a Mark Shurman.
